Boiler Services in Novi

Boiler Services for Novi homes

Novi grew quickly from the late 1980s through the 2000s, so many of its subdivision homes now have furnaces and air conditioners reaching the end of their service life together. Novi boiler work is often on radiant floor systems in custom homes, finished basements and garages, along with the occasional older lakefront home with baseboard hot water heat. Mixing valves, zone controls and expansion tanks are the parts that most often need attention.

What's included

Repair, maintenance and replacement for hot water boilers and radiant heating systems, including high-efficiency combi boilers. Depending on your home and equipment, the work can include:

• Repairs
• Annual maintenance
• Replacement
• Combi boilers
• Radiant floors
• Cold radiators or zones.
• Pressure creeping up.
• Banging or gurgling.
• Frequent short cycling.
• Leaks or rust.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main boiler services page.

Local conditions in Novi

Most Novi homes heat with gas forced-air furnaces installed in the 1990s and 2000s, many now past the age where repairs start to add up. Side-wall PVC venting and accessible basements make replacements straightforward, and custom homes add radiant floor zones to the mix.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for boiler services in Novi, get clear answers to these before signing:

• Is the boiler sized to my home's heat loss, or to the old boiler?
• What venting and condensate changes does a high-efficiency boiler need?
• Will you check the expansion tank and relief valve?
• Would a combi boiler work for my hot water needs?

Permits and licensing

In Michigan, installing or replacing a furnace, air conditioner or heat pump generally requires a mechanical permit and inspection, and the work must be done by a licensed mechanical contractor. In Novi, permits are handled by the City of Novi's building division. New electrical circuits are done by a licensed electrician under an electrical permit. We pull the permits that apply to your project.
