Boiler Services in Canton

Boiler Services for Canton homes

Canton Township grew rapidly from the 1980s through the 2000s, from established subdivisions to newer neighborhoods like Cherry Hill Village, with older farmhouses at its edges. Boilers are less common in Canton's forced-air subdivisions, but custom homes and older farmhouses at the edges of the township do use them. On those, we check the venting, the boiler's age and whether a combi boiler could also replace the water heater.

What's included

Repair, maintenance and replacement for hot water boilers and radiant heating systems, including high-efficiency combi boilers. Depending on your home and equipment, the work can include:

• Repairs
• Annual maintenance
• Replacement
• Combi boilers
• Radiant floors
• Cold radiators or zones.
• Pressure creeping up.
• Banging or gurgling.
• Frequent short cycling.
• Leaks or rust.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main boiler services page.

Local conditions in Canton

Most Canton homes heat with gas forced-air furnaces, many installed when the subdivisions were built and now reaching replacement age. Side-wall vents need clearance from drifting snow, and larger homes need careful sizing for finished basements.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for boiler services in Canton, get clear answers to these before signing:

• Is the boiler sized to my home's heat loss, or to the old boiler?
• What venting and condensate changes does a high-efficiency boiler need?
• Will you check the expansion tank and relief valve?
• Would a combi boiler work for my hot water needs?

Permits and licensing

In Michigan, installing or replacing a furnace, air conditioner or heat pump generally requires a mechanical permit and inspection, and the work must be done by a licensed mechanical contractor. In Canton, permits are handled by Canton Township's building and inspection services. New electrical circuits are done by a licensed electrician under an electrical permit. We pull the permits that apply to your project.
