Water Heaters in Canton

Water Heaters for Canton homes

Canton Township grew rapidly from the 1980s through the 2000s, from established subdivisions to newer neighborhoods like Cherry Hill Village, with older farmhouses at its edges. Canton's 1990s and 2000s homes have many original water heaters that are well past their expected life. We help homeowners choose between a like-for-like tank, a power-vented model or tankless based on household size and venting.

What's included

Tank and tankless water heater installation, replacement and repair, including high-efficiency and power-vented models. Depending on your home and equipment, the work can include:

• Conventional gas tanks
• Power-vented tanks
• Tankless (on-demand)
• Combi boilers
• Sizing.
• Venting.
• Gas supply.
• Safety.
• Removal.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main water heaters page.

Local conditions in Canton

With so many Canton homes built in the same era, equipment ages in waves across whole neighborhoods. Regular maintenance and planning ahead avoid replacing a furnace in the middle of January.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for water heaters in Canton, get clear answers to these before signing:

• Is a tank or tankless unit the better fit for my household?
• What venting changes are needed?
• Is my gas line large enough for a tankless unit?
• Will you remove and dispose of the old tank?

Permits and licensing

In Michigan, installing or replacing a furnace, air conditioner or heat pump generally requires a mechanical permit and inspection, and the work must be done by a licensed mechanical contractor. In Canton, permits are handled by Canton Township's building and inspection services. New electrical circuits are done by a licensed electrician under an electrical permit. We pull the permits that apply to your project.
