Furnace Repair in Novi

Furnace Repair for Novi homes

Novi grew quickly from the late 1980s through the 2000s, so many of its subdivision homes now have furnaces and air conditioners reaching the end of their service life together. On Novi's 1990s and 2000s furnaces, the most common repairs are failed hot surface igniters, dirty flame sensors and worn inducer motors. Deep cold snaps also expose weak parts quickly, which is why calls spike the first week temperatures drop near zero.

What's included

Local conditions in Novi

Most Novi homes heat with gas forced-air furnaces installed in the 1990s and 2000s, many now past the age where repairs start to add up. Side-wall PVC venting and accessible basements make replacements straightforward, and custom homes add radiant floor zones to the mix.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for furnace repair in Novi, get clear answers to these before signing:

• What exactly failed, and can you show me?
• Is this a common failure, and what caused it?
• Is the part covered by the manufacturer's warranty?
• Given the furnace's age, is this repair worth doing?

Permits and licensing

In Michigan, installing or replacing a furnace, air conditioner or heat pump generally requires a mechanical permit and inspection, and the work must be done by a licensed mechanical contractor. In Novi, permits are handled by the City of Novi's building division. New electrical circuits are done by a licensed electrician under an electrical permit. We pull the permits that apply to your project.
