Ductwork for Canton homes

Canton Township grew rapidly from the 1980s through the 2000s, from established subdivisions to newer neighborhoods like Cherry Hill Village, with older farmhouses at its edges. Canton homes with finished basements and bonus rooms often have spaces that were tacked onto the duct system as an afterthought. We look at whether the existing trunks can carry the extra air or whether a separate solution makes more sense.

What's included

Duct design, repair, sealing and new runs that fix hot and cold rooms, weak airflow and noisy vents. Depending on your home and equipment, the work can include:

Airflow diagnosis
Return air upgrades
New runs and relocations
Sealing and insulation
Balancing dampers
Zoning
Find the problem.
Fix the biggest restriction first.
Quote in writing.
Re-test.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main ductwork page.

Local conditions in Canton

Dust from ongoing construction and spring pollen make filtration a priority for many Canton homeowners, while finished basements and bonus rooms often need duct changes to get proper airflow.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for ductwork in Canton, get clear answers to these before signing:

How did you find where the airflow problem is?
Which single change will make the biggest difference?
Will you re-measure airflow after the work?
Can the work be done in stages?

Permits and licensing

In Michigan, installing or replacing a furnace, air conditioner or heat pump generally requires a mechanical permit and inspection, and the work must be done by a licensed mechanical contractor. In Canton, permits are handled by Canton Township's building and inspection services. New electrical circuits are done by a licensed electrician under an electrical permit. We pull the permits that apply to your project.
